Another Sketch Challenge at Let's Scrap

Wow, ok so it has been a few days since I have posted. I have had a sick baby girl, who is on the way to recovery! Not sure from what, just a high fever, which always scares me when you get into the high numbers. But after three sleepless nights she is feeling much better.

Is everyone ready for Santa yet? Well, this is my card for this weeks challenge at Let's Scrap. I had these pics taken of the kids, and they did not turn out well at all. We did a second session that turned out amazing, but I don't get those until next week. Isn't that always the way, you get the kids dressed, managed not to get puke or spit up on the clothes, and they look just miserable! You should see the other pic, Kayleigh is crying, I couldn't help it, I bought a copy of it! So on the second set of pics, I had no expectations, Tyler's hair was standing up straight with static, in his regular clothes, kayleigh in her Santa suit, but boy did I get smiles that day! The key, don't go in with any expectations, and you cannot help but be pleasantly surprised!
Kayleigh's flower in her hair I made with some leftover ribbon. Cute eh?

This card we did as part of the challenge, but will not be what I am sending out this year. I had better get cracking!!
More Echo Park paper!

All the Stockings Were Hung....on the ATC Frame?

Here is another project I just finished! I love using the Echo Park Papers, and this is using the Merry Christmas line...so traditional, I love it! I am using the other Christmas line too, "Everybody Loves Christmas" but for my December Daily.

I used an ATC frame from 7gypsies, some chipboard embellishments (I think cosmo cricket bare naked) that I covered with the pattered paper from the Merry Christmas line, a bit of bakers twine, my Irock for a little bling, some acrylic snowflakes that I colored with my copics, then added the bling with my Irock to coordinate and then the Merry Christmas pattern paper, sticker embellishments, letters, basically the whole line. Oh yeah, you cant forget ribbon! I am not sure where I bought this ribbon from though. My stockings I cut using my cricut, then I used glossy accent at the top, then sprinkled with glitter. I will be adding some more pictures to this frame as this Christmas gets closer, my daughters first visit with Santa, putting up our Christmas tree, my son helping decorating...he is so excited this year! This year is so special because it will be my daughters first Christmas, so as we celebrate another first, I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season!

December Daily - Day 5

Wow, Day 5. Very cold here, and there was a really bad accident as we headed home from shopping. The kids and I had to do a major detour to get home. Even in 4 wheel drive the truck was sliding where the road was sheer ice. That was a perfect time for the kids to have a nice long nap, and I enjoyed my yummy chai latte from Starbucks as we were driving very slowly...my treat for today! Anyways, we are all home safe and sound and here is day 5! I snapped this picture this am, it is so cold with the wind blowing, and I think the pic says it all! I used an Ali Edwards overlay and added my journaling ontop of the pic, and recoloured the overlay and journaling.

December Daily Days 2, 3 &4!

Ok, so I have had to go digital to keep up. I bought these great digital layouts at Jessica Sprague.com created by Crystal Wilkerson, and they are on sale this weekend. If you are ever thinking about going digital, you should check out the classes Jessica offers, amazing, you will learn alot, at your own pace.
So I used three templates I purchased by Crystal, and I resized to 6x6. Then I printed and embellished with some ribbon and number tags by Elle Studio, the Merry tag is from Ormolu at etsy, snowflake ribbon is from etsy and ofcourse I had to glam it up with my Irock. Paper is from Echo Park Paper, and the brown and blue polka dot is October Afternoon. I glimmer misted the black cardstock background with Tattered Angels marshmallow!

December Daily - Day 1

Well, here goes nothing, I am attempting to complete my December Daily this year! Ali Edwards has some more great blog posts today and free downloads. I did my journaling on a mini page and put a picture on the backside of it.
For my main picture I used an Ali Edwards overlay, so simple to throw over top of your picture in photoshop. Also my journaling mini page is an overlay that I just added text to.
The paper and embleli's are a mix of different products. Paper is Echo Park Paper - Everybody Loves Christmas line. The bling on the pages, is my Irock tool, I am loving this tool...it heat sets the stones on your page, or anything for that matter!
Tree Pin is Maya Road, Home bingo card is Jenni Bowlin, the number one journal embeli on page 2 is Elles Studio, the ho ho ho chip board embli is making memories. The snowflake brad I am not sure, that was something I saw at staples years ago and bought them.

I am seeing some playtime in the snow today...maybe the subject for page 2!
Have a great day,

A new Sketch at Let's Scrap

Hop on over to ....Lets Scrap to check out this weeks sketch.

I couldnt wait to scrap some pics I took this weekend at the Santa Claus Parade. So sweet! I used the Echo Park Paper line, Everybody Love Christmas! The journal tags are Elles Studio

Before the parade, my friend and neighbor Anne had her famous cookie exchange, and this year was no exception...think pink was the theme, and Kayleigh and I even put some pink in our hair! Nothing too extreme, but my pink is still washing out! After the cookie exchange, we headed to our local parade, which I love because it is at night...so much fun. Then it was back to Stew and Anne's house for the party. They out did themselves again this year, and we had santa visit...the kids were so excited when santa and his reindeers footsteps were on the roof. Ty surprised me and sat on Santa, and so did Kayleigh without screeming! Thank you again Anne and Stew for such a fun night...!

Well it is December 1st and the first day of my December daily...lets see how far I go with it this year!!!! I will post once I have a few days complete! Today starts with the opening of the advent calendar from Nana to Tyler!

Jessica Sprague has another Free Class!

Check out Jessica's site and sign up for another free class.
I did a photoshop course on Jessica's site, and it was awesome. I was creating digital layouts in no time. I found photo shop was not one of those programs I could just play and learn, I needed some help!
The great thing is for her free classes you do not have to use photo shop. They are usually hybrid classes where you would get PDF's to print out and use for the project.

Check it out:

Challenge 75 @ Let's Scrap

Debby has come up with a great challenge from the Design team over at http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/
http://letsscrap.ning.com/forum/topics/challenge75-1
So here is my take on the challenge, and the sketch I based it on. I had so much fun doing it, and I was able to turn 8's and 9's into all the letter a's that I needed, and use up some stash in the process!

Thanks for looking,
Mandy

This one: Use your sticker stash on a Let's Scrap sketch!

How many sheets of letter stickers do you have lying around that you don't use anymore simply because you're out of the 'a', 'y' or 'e'? I know have quite a few.

This my my challenge: Try to use the left overs and see if you can make it into the letter you need. The 'w' most of the times can be used as a 'm', simply turn it upside down. The 'u' can be a 'n', the 'q' a 'b', a 'p' becomes a 'd' (only lower case). The upper case 'Q' can be easily transformed into an 'O' by cutting of those little extensions. An 'i' can be made out of almost any letter. The 'y' can be made out of a 'x', just cut the right bottom leg of.
By looking at your letters you can probably see some more possibilities.

Besides that you can also combine different types of stickers in a title, or use one uppercase letter when you're out of lower case. You can also replace missing letters by stamps or die-cut letters.

My challenge for you: Try to make a layout based on a Let's Scrap sketch with the tips I gave you. I can not wait to see what you all come up with. Enjoy! Don't forget to tag your LO with 'challenge75' (no space)

Next week Saturday (11-12) my DS is going to draw a name and the winner will receive a prize. You have time to upload your layout until Friday the 11th of November.

Challenge 74

So I decided this week to get in gear and get a quick layout done. So I was checking out Pats Challenge this week over at www.letsscrap.ning.com, and she made it very easy for us!
Instructions:
For this week's challenge I want to keep it as easy as 1-2-3 so
(at least) 1. patterned paper, (at least) 2. different embellishments and (at least) 3. pictures. The only other rule is to use a Let's Sketch sketch.

So I used sketch: 5-12-10 for some pics we took on our tacky tourist weekend in Niagara Falls not too long ago!

Mandy
